Schiacciata e Vino — A Tuscan Tradition
Schiacciata (pronounced [skya-CHA-ta]) is much more than bread — it’s a symbol of Tuscan life.
Born in the bakeries of Florence and the countryside around it, this crispy-yet-soft flatbread was made to be shared with friends, a glass of good wine, and a few simple ingredients.
At Crosta, we bring this tradition to Berlin. Our schiacciata is made with a sourdough base, slowly fermented for lightness and flavour, then baked to golden perfection. It’s filled with the best Italian products — from creamy stracciatella and smoked provola to porchetta di Ariccia and mortadella from Bologna.
And because no schiacciata is complete without wine, we curate a selection of Italian wines that reflect the same spirit — authentic, regional, and made by producers who care deeply about their craft. From a crisp Lugana or elegant Chianti to a bold Nero d’Avola, every glass pairs naturally with our schiacciata.
Schiacciata e Vino is our way of sharing what we love most about Italy: simple ingredients, slow preparation, and good company around the table.
